Sometimes clients come to us because everything feels slightly out of control. Not disastrous but sometimes, inefficient and a little bit messy. (We all can be guilty of letting structure or tidiness go under the pressures of life and business)
This particular project began as an operational reset. The goal was simple: create clarity, structure, and systems that would support both the business and the person running it.
Part One: The Foundations
We started by implementing clear, workable systems across both business and personal life:
Introduced Asana for project management across the wider team, creating visibility across priorities and timelines and a central point for internal project & client management
Built a clear P&L to manage finances and track performance
Reviewed outgoing costs and identified opportunities for savings (those subscriptions that sneak past you despite you never actually using it!)
Created HR policies and processes, including review structures, expenses, and WFH guidelines
Carried out a full inbox cleanse across three inboxes - two business and one personal. Filing, filters, unsubscribing and a process to manage your inbox like it’s a to do list.
Designed a property renovation tracker to manage timelines, budgets, and decisions
Nothing over-engineered. Just systems that make sense and are easy to use. It’s the starting point that sometimes Founders need to get them on track to organisational success!
Part Two: Structure to Support
Once the foundations were in place, the work didn’t stop, it evolved into a long term client relationship. The trust had been built.
Systems only work if they’re maintained, otherwise you’ll just end up back where you started. As the business grew and life continued to move, those processes needed oversight, updates, and someone accountable for keeping everything running smoothly.
That’s where retained support came in and a bespoke package was created. 2 Pear Assistants, one to manage the email & diary management, miscellaneous tasks, filing and general tidiness. The other Assistant, supporting operationally across the business.
Long Term Gain
With the structure and processes established, ongoing support became lighter, more strategic, and way more effective.
It’s about having the right support to keep everything working long after.
